Initially, I implemented an iframed MLS/IDX search page that was not customizable and not very modern. Because it is an iframe, listings would not appear in a dedicated landing page which would also limit the SEO performance of the site.

IDX Broker integration

We selected IDX Broker to manage the MLS data and display property search, listings, home valuation and mortgage calculator. The service also includes map search, customizable search results, and lead management tools.

I implemented a dynamic wrapper that gets updated automatically when I make any changes to the template in Wordpress. This ensures there’s continuity between the Wordpress site and the IDX pages.

The service also gives you the ability to create or customize out-of-the-box widgets like the omni search bar on the homepage and buying page. I added CSS to make sure the design matched elements of the site e.g. buttons.
